Students’ competition on the District Heating’s Day
Hungarian district heating companies organize District Heating’s Day every year. They expect mainly young people to participate in the programme, representing the advantages of the technology.
PÉTÁV, partner of our PR agency invited secondary school students of Pécs to take part in a creative competition. A student competition that needs neither library research work, filling in tests nor doing calculations, but means a serious challenge for participants. This was PÉTÁV50 creative competition for secondary school students, finished on the District Heating’s Day. There were only two, seemingly easy tasks: to design a billboard and make a presentation to the students’ own age group about the advantages of district heating.
Entrant teams could work on the project for a month. During this time they continuously got instructions, information via a Facebook group, moreover they even had four mentors free to ask any questions connected to the project. The whole process was coordinated by our PR agency. Finally, the best eight trios got the chance to participate in the final, where they had to show the previously compiled presentations in front of the jury. This stage of the competition featured skilful and high quality productions with the victory of the team of Janus Pannonius Secondary School.
The competition is part of the jubilee events of PÉTÁV, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its foundation. Our PR agency has been working on this project from the very beginning: we suggested ideas for the basic concept, created the detailed regulation, managed contacts with entrants, and took care of the graphic design and media communication. Besides these, one of our colleagues was member of the final jury too.
