Körber Hungary, a partner of our PR department, fulfils its corporate social and environmental responsibilities and everyday tasks in accordance with the ISO 26000 guidelines. Our colleagues published an issue summarizing their activities.

Unlike other ISO qualifications, ISO 26000 is a set of guidelines rather than a certification, meaning it cannot be formally certified, and it does not mandate specific tasks. Instead, it functions as a directive for companies, providing a framework for voluntarily undertaken and complied obligations. ISO 26000 primarily emphasizes ESG-type activities, encompassing environmental and sustainability efforts, social responsibilities towards employees and local communities, as well as effective and ethical management methods.

These activities hold traditional value at Körber, making the adoption of ISO 26000 relatively easy. The company’s actions are aligned with the guideline’s instructions, which was summarized in a published issue. Both FERLING’s PR and DESIGN departments played a role in creating the issue, contributing written and graphic materials. The project progressed smoothly, as we were actively involved in implementing most of these activities.

With our contribution, we made films, infographics and press materials highlighting sustainability efforts. Additionally, we supported employee and social responsibility programs in diverse ways.

We also play an essential role in the company’s internal communication, as well as in employer branding campaigns targeting Pécs and the region. Notably, FERLING developed a heavily awarded mobile application for Körber. Additionally, we provide support with written and graphic materials each year. Naturally, Körber contributes to its own efficiency; tanks to their employee welfare program, their turnover rate continuously remains under 5%.

We participated in both the internal and external communication of the half-decade-old volunteer program. During this year’s volunteer days, the Körber team renovated nurseries, schools, animal shelters and even entire libraries with the help of 675 participants at 25 different locations, totaling 7,927 work hours. These projects were showcased in an exhibition at Árkád shopping centre.

Our PR department played a crucial role in helping Körber win numerous awards. Together we successfully participated in Greengage’s and Joint Venture’s tenders, highlighting the company’s efforts towards environmental protection. Our efforts were recognized by the PREXA Award from the Hungarian PR Association, and we secured first place at the HRKomm Awards, thanks to various elements of our employee communication.
