Two partners of our PR agency took home prizes: Körber won its category, while Duna-Dráva Cement received a special mention.

The Greengage competition rewarded best practices of companies focusing on environmental protection, sustainability and attitude change of employees or the public opinion. Projects achieved measurable results and made a significant contribution to the greening of the company were eligible to participate.

Körber Hungária's machining plant in Pécs won the grand prize in the energy saving category for its data-driven energy efficiency solutions. The company has made significant investments to reduce consumption: they have replaced all of more than 6,200 light sources on their site with LEDs, recycled waste heat from some machines for heating and set up a project group to accurately monitor electrical consumers and identify saving opportunities within the factory. These efforts have resulted in a 13.6% reduction in electricity consumption per productive hour in 2021 compared to the previous year.

As a key player in the domestic building materials industry, DDC is actively working on making its region of operation greener, with the involvement of various participants from social areas. In addition, the company assigns strategic importance to the principle of sustainable development and uses environmentally friendly technologies while striving to minimize the use of raw material and energy in cement production by exploring opportunities that can result in alternatives for mineral resources. The company’s “green” commitment was rewarded with a special mention award by the professional jury.
