Although Danubiana is one of the major players in the Hungarian wine market, it’s not rare that even wine aficionados scratch their heads upon hearing the company name. This, of course, is no coincidence, despite the fact that as a result of conscious development, the winery’s name has been a trademark for excellent value for money and assured quality for many years.

Founded in 1990, the German-owned Danubiana is the largest wine company in the Pannonian Wine Region. The winery, with its seat in Bonyhád, produces about 10 million bottles a year in its properties in Bonyhád and Gyöngyös. In addition to local wines, they produce wines originating from the regions of South Balaton, Szekszárd and Villány. They export the largest amount of wine from Hungary.

The main reason for Danubiana’s relatively low visibility is that they export ninety percent of their wines to the west, primarily to German and British, but also to Canadian, Scandinavian and other markets. This was also the original intention of the German owner of the company, although at first they only transported Hungarian grapes to the west, in the nineties they decided to increase the quality and build two Hungarian processor facilities. This means that they send completely Hungarian wines to the shelves of the stores, even though the company does not have a vineyard of its own, wines are made from the grapes of the surrounding regions.

To increase awareness about the company, our agency’s DIGTAL business line is developing a new, state-of-the-art website.
