Yet another reason to learn
For Duna-Dráva Cement Ltd (DDC)., it is significant to provide adequate background for young talented individuals. That is the reason behind the creation of the company’s scholarship program for elementary and high school students near its two cement plants.
For years now, DDC supports those young individuals who prove themselves to be hard-working and have outstanding talent in any field of life, for example, school studies, music, sports, and arts.
The winners benefit from the scholarship for ten months. Elementary school students get 8.000 HUF, their high school counterparts get 10.000 HUF per month.
During the academic year of 2019/2020, the advisory board of Duna-Dráva Youth and Innovation Foundation awarded the scholarship for 43 students in Vác and 48 in Beremend. Those who live in the agglomeration of Beremend got their certification on 21th of November, while those who live near Vác got theirs on the next day.
The „Duna-Dráva for Talents” scholarship program started in the academic year of 2005/2006 in Vác and the academic year of 2010/2011 in Beremend. Since then, the company supported almost 1100 talented students with a total amount of 85 million HUF.
